The $300,000 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes. TAMBELOA (1) started at cricket score odds in the Group 1 Spring Champion two back and ran well above expectations just missing the frame on that occasion. Then had a bit of a freshen up before placing in a Rosehill Midway last time out. Should give backers a big sight. JOHN DORY (2) hasn't done much wrong with a win and two seconds from three career outings and looks to have plenty of upside. Respect the Waller/Maloney combination. BIRD WHISTLE (11) just ran into one better in Group 3 company at the latest effort and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. Top-three commodity. MATIAS (3) shed the maiden tag last time and will take some confidence from that victory. Capable of another big run. NIGHTLINE (12) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be discounted lightly.
