ZALAU (4) missed the frame on debut then progressed nicely at second outing when runner-up behind dominant winner over 6f at Launceston. Beautifully placed this easier company and has upside. Sure to be there at the finish. FIERCE SPIRIT (1) hasn't been far away in richer maidens, last start beaten 6 lengths into sixth. This suits and can improve sharply. FLYING HOME (6) turned in a moderate effort on debut last start when seventh at this track over 5f, beaten 7 lengths. Has upside though and looks a top-three chance. BUZZOFFSKI (5) is a two-year-old filly at the races for the first time. From an elite family that includes black type success, being by Hanseatic from Buzzing Along. Won only trial at Devonport Synthetic. Should enjoy a nice run from this draw and is certainly worth considering. SCARLET BULLET (7) is a first starter by I Am Immortal out of My Lady's Chamber. Third at Devonport Synthetic at her only trial. Worth consideration.
