Verdict

LORDSTER (4) missed the kick when resuming over 5f here last time which ended his chances, but he did finish just 2.1 lengths back when the judge called a halt. Far more at home over today's trip. Only needs a clean getaway to make the most of gate one and fourth win over 6f is on the cards. ZARU (3) hasn't really threatened in four runs this time in work, all over longer journeys than this. Veteran sprinter with 15 top three finishes from 24 tries at six furlongs. Watch for a spike in form. DEBUSSY (7) has not won for 72 weeks but is catching the eye of late. Came from last on the bend to finish fourth most recently over 5f at Kempsey. One to watch for in the final stages. GOLD CARD (2) drops in grade and is a distance specialist so throw him in the exotics despite some plain recent form.

Second-up. First-up after four months got back early 7th of 11 at this track Bm82 on December 4 over 5f, 2 len behind Iron Man with 130lbs at $6. Previously second-up 9th of 11 at Randwick 3&4yo Bm72 on July 26 over 5 ½f, slow going 8 len behind Regimental Colours carrying 122lbs at $12. Fitter for that hitout and has plenty of upside.
