Verdict

Not a lot separates a few of these. PLACID PEARL (6) gets the nod after a couple of decent efforts over shorter trips to launch this prep. Finding the line well and has won up to 1 ?m so this journey third-up looks the right fit. HORIZONS (4) led for home and tried hard but found a couple better over 1 ?m at Randwick on Cup Day. Cherry ripe after four runs back and the engagement of Hyeronimus will suit this mare's racing pattern. WOUNDER (9) last raced four weeks ago when a close fourth over 1 5/16m at Warwick Farm. Back in trip but should settle handy and will be strong through the line. KING JERRY (5) is up in class and new to this distance but his last win at Muswellbrook by nearly six lengths stamped him as a stayer of promise. BLUE EYED BRIGID (14) is another on trial beyond the mile. Lightly raced and has plenty of upside.
