Verdict

The 2YOs kick things off and RIPPER RUPERT (2) goes on top. He showed promising signs on debut at Ascot in March and looks in similar form judging by his recent Belmont Trial. Ticks plenty of boxes off the inside for Chris Parnham and he can go one better on resumption. CALL NICK (3) was very impressive in his only trial coming into this and the booking of Pike suggests he's ready to fire. He disappointed on debut, but he looks to have gone to another level now and looks the main danger. FIERY SPARK (1) was just fair late in the race last start at Pinjarra but was fresh over 6 ½f there. He drops back to 5f today which may suit a touch better and the stable's strike jockey goes on. Expecting sharp improvement. SLIP THE JAB (6) pulled up with an issue on debut after looking fast at the trials. Has looked good again this time in work and can put his best foot forward now he's a gelding. PLAYING FREE (5) can play a role first-up on the back of some nice trials.
