Verdict

PHAROAH SHOW (2) was just plain fresh but improved sharply out in distance last start when bolting in over 1 ¹/16m. Gray remaining in the saddle is a big push for his chances and the form out of that race has been superb. Can improve again out in trip and looks the one to beat. LET'SDEAL (1) has been racing well over shorter distances but now looks primed to improve back to his best. He was shaping as a leading Cups contender earlier in the campaign and now can fire a shot getting out to a more suitable distance. Think he's been overachieving over the shorter trip and he can play a leading role. VEVINSKY (3) crossed the line first in the Broome Cup last year and is trending in a similar fashion this time in work. Should be able to find the front again from a favourable barrier and will be tough to run down. WOLFMAN (7) is racing in good order and can't be discounted. FORTUNE'S LUCK (10) was too good last time out and has strong claims with the drop in grade.

At the latest run 3rd in a small field at this track Rtg 68+ on July 11 over 1m, 4 len behind Vevinsky with 132lbs at $3.40. The race before that 5th of 12 at this track Rtg 70+ on June 28 over 7f, 2 len behind Housewife with 130lbs at $9. Feel like he's been overachieving at the shorter distances and now he can show what he's really capable of.
