Verdict

TRUE BLUE BONDI (3) stuck on well fresh when the race favourite over this course and distance, beaten 2.2L. He'll be fitter for that effort and was a dominant winner when second-up last campaign. Pike will need some luck from the barrier, but if the breaks come he's good enough to knock this over. NINE BALL (5) bounced back off a freshen last start to be 0.5L off the winner over 6f. The slight rise in trip won't be an issue and she's proven adaptable with her racing pattern. Ear muffs going on is a query, but CJP rides again and a forward showing is anticipated. IMPRESSIVE JEWEL (8) held on to win fresh over 6 ½f here without a trial and further improvement is on the cards now. She has the tactical speed to sit handy from the draw and she's expected to put her best foot forward once again. ITZABEAST (4) is racing in good order and has to be included on what he's done recently. CHERYL'S SHOUT (7) was a good winner in easier company last start and is worth including.
