SOUND OF SPEED (5) sat on the speed first-up and was only caught on the line, beaten in a photo finish as the race favourite. He'll be fitter for that effort and the good draw can see him close to the speed once again. He was a dominant winner second-up last campaign and he looks ready to take the next step. CANNYKEV (2) raced over 6f first-up when setting the tempo and finishing 1.6L off the winner when tiring late in the piece. Back to 5f now and the claim of Riordan sees him nicely weighted. Should be close to the speed and can go one better. SANCTIONS (7) is building nicely this time in work finishing only 1.5L off the winner last start at Bunbury. Needs a touch of luck from the barrier, but trust Pike to get it right. Can be in the finish once again. GANGGAJANG (8) bolted in maiden company last start in impressive fashion. Has to be included on that effort. KING'S DRAMA (1) is racing in good order and is sure to be thereabouts once again.
