Verdict

An open race to end the card. SOLDANELLE (3) missed in a photo two back before flying late to be 0.7L off the winner over this course and distance last week. A firmer deck this time around should suit her better and she rates highly on her latest form. Can fly home from the back. MISSISSIPPI DAWN (14) surprised with a good win first-up over 7f with the apprentice hoop on board. Now Pike rides and she's unbeaten when second-up previously. Draw is sticky, but she's back in good order and she can go on with the job. FIFTH ESSENCE (8) comes back to the mile today after two strong efforts over further recently. He'll be on the pace from a good draw and Fiore has two wins when riding him previously. Can give them something to catch. DECORATION (11) has enough speed to roll across from out wide and can turn in a bold effort. PRECIOUS GOD (15) was too good at Ascot last time out and can go on with the job with the aid of an inside alley.

Second-up. First-up after five months won by a neck at Ascot Grad Hcp 60+ May 9 over 7f defeating Karnup Queen with 117lbs at $31. Previously second-up ran on from midfield and won by a long-neck at Bunbury Cl1 September 18 over 7f on a soft track defeating Golden Kathleen with 128lbs at $5.50. Strong on resumption and there's no reason why she can't repeat the dose.
