Verdict

ROCK THE MARKET (6) couldn't bring up the hat-trick last start when missing by 1.7L in this grade last time out. A better barrier this time can see him sit a touch closer with Brad Parnham reuniting with the mare. She continues to improve with racing and can get back to winning ways with this set-up. REMINISCENCE (9) threw up a poor one last start after looming large on straightening a fortnight ago. Pike hops off, but it was only 1 poor run and he's a colt with plenty of upside still. Happy to overlook one poor effort and he can bounce back in a big way. PANTILE WARRIOR (1) is a Victorian stayer resuming for Team Williams on the back of some impressive trials coming in. Pike rides which is a big push for his chances and if he can pick up from where he left off last campaign, he'll be right in the finish. CONDUCIVE (8) was too good last start on the quick turnaround and has to be included. DELTASON (2) is a handy type with 7f suiting now. Can go close.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Rabbit

Also known as a pacemaker; this is a horse with no expected chance of winning but is used to prompt a quick pace on the front end of the race to the benefit of a stablemate who is a closer.

Exacta

A bet selecting the first and second horses in a race in the correct order. An exacta box refers to paying a little more to ensure they can finish in either order.

Also Eligible

A horse that is entered but does not draw into the body of the field due to too many entries, and thus is not permitted to start unless there are enough scratches to shrink the field size.
