RANYX (4) felt the pinch first-up over this trip at Northam but should be better for that effort. While the wide draw looks a niggle, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of speed in this race, so he can roll across to be prominent on settling. With his natural improvement, he'll take catching. TRUE BLUE BONDI (7) showed promising signs in his debut campaign, pulling up with an issue before the break. His latest trial was solid and Pike hops in the saddle for his first-up performance. Expecting a bold effort on resumption. SHOOTING SPIRIT (1) got a long way back first-up at Ascot and never got into the race, finishing 3.8L away. Back to this grade looks a good move and the 7lbs claim of ZJP comes in handy. Anticipating a much better run this time around. DON'T TRUST JUDAS (3) hit the line strongly first-up as a 30-1 chance and now gets CJP in the saddle. Won't be far away. ALASKALOT (2) will take plenty of benefit from the fresh run after a long break. Can improve again now.
