Verdict

MT SHIRATAKU (3) only had one start last campaign when flying late from the back of the pack to be beaten 1.3L. His two trials coming into this have been very impressive with Fiore in the saddle, who sticks with him today. May end up back in the run, but he has plenty of upside and he can return with a bang. ACORN (2) missed in a photo finish last start when sitting on the speed throughout. Pike sticks with him today and the better draw this time around should help his chances. Ticks plenty of boxes and will take plenty of catching. NONESOSPICY (1) led them up on debut in easier company and just felt the pinch late, beaten 0.7L. She'll be fitter for that effort and she's a second-up winner in the past. Can turn in a bold run from the front. GO GO GROMMET (5) gets the blinkers back on today and can improve third-up into the campaign. CAPORETTO (8) is better than he showed last time out and can improve.
