WESTERN JET (5) led them up on debut at this track and trip a fortnight ago and was only caught late in the race. That performance turned in a strong rating and he should be better for the debut performance. He can be prominent from the draw once again and with that added experience, he can go one better now. MISS DEFIES ME (11) has shown promising signs at the trials in readiness for her debut and the booking of Pike is a good push for her chances. The draw is a query, but she has shown speed in her trials. Can make an immediate impact. LA EXCELLENCE (1) was 1L off the winner first-up over 6 ½f at Northam in a strong finish under Carbery. He'll be fitter for that effort as he drops back to the 6f journey today and gets the aid of an inside barrier. Big chance if he can build on the fresh effort. GUARANTOR (4) is better than we saw first-up and can improve sharply with that run under his belt. CAWARRA (9) is third-up now and has to be included.
