Verdict

HASANI (1) sat handy and got the job done over 6 ½f last start in good fashion, shedding the maiden tag after being well supported late in betting. Fiore remains with the gelding who looks to be a progressive type. Map is a bit sticky, but he'll relish the slight rise in trip and he can repeat the dose. SAAM TIME LUCKY (2) dropped back to 6 ½f last start and couldn't reel in Hasani when going back from the barrier. Suspect similar tactics are adopted here which will make things difficult, though his run at this track and trip two back rates highly. Can put his best foot forward. ROCKSTAR QUEEN (5) got a long way back last start but closed off soundly over 5 ½f at Northam. They were just too quick for her over the short course and now getting up in trip looks a good move. Pike rides and she can feature. BRAVE DRAGON (4) will be fitter for the first-up run behind Hasani and he can improve with some gear chances as well. SHIMMERY STAR (6) is next best.

Recent form sound. Most recently eased back early on 3rd in a small field at this track 3yo 0Mwly on September 3 over 6 ½f, slow going 0.5 len behind Hasani carrying 132lbs at $4.40. The start before that ran on strongly from last on the turn, 3rd of 9 at this track 3yo Plate on August 16 over 7f, slow going neck behind My Authoritah with 123lbs at $24. Beaten by the tactics last start, they couldn't do it again this time, could they?
