Verdict

The lightly raced BAY OF THE SOUTH (4) is back after a 23-week spell. Opened the maiden campaign with a couple of placings, leading for home on each occasion. Narrowly beaten in a recent Doomben trial. Likely improver this time in work and will give them something to catch. MAJOR HOT (13) caught the eye at Ipswich last start when beaten under two lengths over 6f at Ipswich. Starting to find form after a handful of race starts and can play a key role from a better draw this time. Michael Freedman's first starter KING'S COIN (6) wasn't far away in a recent Gold Coast trial. Worth monitoring for market support. QUEEN OF ACES (10) returns after a brief spell. Just a fair effort at her last appearance on the Gold Coast Poly nine weeks ago. Lightly raced and open to improvement this time in work. MILITARY LEGEND (18) has raced once over today's distance for a minor placing. One for the exotics.
