Verdict

TOO DARN STORMY (4) was off a freshen last start when only 0.4L off the winner at this track and trip when narrowly beaten as the race favourite. He's right on the cusp of another win and he's showing plenty of talent in defeat. Pike rides again now third-up and he can go one better. OURGIRLCANRUN (10) couldn't hold on when setting the tempo first-up, beaten by a smart one who has since won again. Bolted in second-up last campaign though when firing across from a wide draw. She's down in the weights and can be tough to catch with her added fitness. FIRST BEACH (3) couldn't hold on when leading throughout in a similar race here 10 days ago. Too Darn Stormy was in that race also and he meets that runner better at the weights. Drawn better this time and can build on his handy second-up record. COUNTRY GOD (2) looks better suited coming back in trip today and can play a leading role. DESERT LIFE (9) won't be far away from a good draw.
