NICCIANA (8) backed up the big first-up win with an impressive effort over 7f last time out, running away to score by 2.3L. Back to 6f now, but that doesn't look an issue and he has the speed to offset the tricky barrier. Can bring up a winning hat-trick. SHOOTING SPIRIT (6) ended last campaign in disappointing fashion but he was in good order prior. His latest trial was solid at Belmont and Pike hops in the saddle first-up. He's a two-time winner fresh and he's expected to put his best foot forward. SUPIDO EXPRESS (11) led them up at Belmont last start but just missed in a photo finish when caught on the line. Can find the front again today and appears a live chance with a drop in weight. CANNY ROCK (1) can sit much closer than he did last start and a bold effort is on the cards. TREBLE MAKER (9) won well fresh at Kalgoorlie and can go on with the job.
