Verdict

SMART ENERGY (3) went back-to-back to end last campaign and looks in good order this time in work judging by his recent trials. Carbery reunites with the gelding and he maps for a lovely run first-up today. Might be better over further, though this looks a very winnable race for him on resumption. SUPIDO EXPRESS (7) has been beaten in a photo finish his last three outings. He hasn't won for a while, though he's obviously right on the cusp and the form out of his last start has been super. Can get across from the draw and be tough to run down. ZORBRIST (4) resumed here and has placed first-up in the past. His trial coming in was sound and if he can pick up from where he left off last campaign then he'll be right in the finish. MANTUA (1) gets barrier 1 and CJP in the saddle as he steps back out to 6f today. Sure to go close. RANYX (6) is better than we saw last time out and can bounce back.
