Verdict

The first of the features is the Karrakatta Plate where Magic Millions winner MARIA LUCIA (8) aims to take both 2YO features in the west. Off a break, she sat close to Aurum Belle off a break and was taking ground off her late in the race when beaten 0.5L. Drawn perfectly today, she gets the blinkers on and she can go one better. BEATTY (1) resumed with a strong performance in the Perth Stakes when winning by 0.2L. Pike rides now and the inside draw should see him get every chance in the run. Can extend his unbeaten run with plenty to like about him. AURUM BELLE (7) has taken all before here and looks well above average, though the wide draw is the sticking point. She has the speed to work across from out wide and if she gets some luck in running, she'll be there to strike. BOY CRUSH (4) flew home to just miss behind Beatty fresh and this shapes much better for him. HE'S A MACHINO (2) gets Schiller on board and can land the knockout blow.
