New York Jets to Be Featured on 'Hard Knocks,' Per Report
We were already going to see plenty of Aaron Rodgers and Sauce Gardner this upcoming season -- including on Monday Night Football in Week 1 -- but prepare for more as the New York Jets will reportedly be featured on the 2023 installment of HBO's Hard Knocks.
NFL and NFL Films have selected the New York Jets to serve as this year’s team on Hard Knocks, per sources.

As tweeted out by ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Tuesday, the NFL Films and HBO joint-production will set its sights on one of the trendiest teams in the league -- an ESPN report confirms.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh will certainly have a tall task in front of him in Florham Park, as he did not volunteer for the popular football docuseries. In fact, back in June, Saleh said he didn't want to be on it. Supposedly, no teams willingly put their name in the hat for 2023.
Still, Gang Green fits all of the qualifications to warrant a Hard Knocks selection this season. Aspects that would have disallowed New York's (or any team's) participation are:
- having a first-year head coach
- making a prior show appearance within the past decade
- qualifying for the playoffs in either of the last two NFL campaigns
Ultimately, with no team volunteering, those parameters left us with only the New Orleans Saints, Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears and J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets as potential mandatory participants in 2023.
Of course, New York was going to be an animated bunch this year, regardless. The franchise successfully and unconventionally wooed four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers to the Big Apple. If you're wondering, the 2023 NFL MVP odds at FanDuel Sportsbook have Rodgers at +1600 to win his fifth MVP.
The future first-ballot Hall-of-Fame quarterback should make for interesting television on the show. He has already been seen enjoying the perks of the city at Madison Square Garden with Sauce Gardner, the reigning AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
The Jets will have a myriad of other storylines the show can dive into. Their roster boasts the 2022 NFL Offensive ROY, as well, in receiver Garrett Wilson. It should be fun to see his progression in his second season in addition to how well he meshes with Rodgers early on.
There is also explosive running back Breece Hall, who is returning from an ACL tear in Week 7 last year, and the handling of 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson. With Rodgers now starring on Broadway, how will the former BYU standout adjust to his understudy role?
This will be the Jets' second time appearing on the show, last serving as the documentary subject in 2010.
