TPC Southwind has been a long-time host on the PGA Tour, but that comes with some recent shifts in the events/formats that the course has hosted.
The 2018 iteration was the final FedEx St. Jude Classic, a full-field event won by Dustin Johnson (-19) with only Andrew Putnam (-13) also better than -9.
Then, for three years, it hosted a World Golf Championship -- a no-cut event (the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational).
In 2022, the course hosted the FedEx St. Jude Championship, a FedExCup Playoff event won in a playoff by Will Zalatoris at -15.
As for the key stats here, it's a lot of ball-striking with a greater-than-usual emphasis on strokes gained: approach. Driving distance is not a must-have skill, and accuracy off the tee is actually a bit more important at the par 70.
The key stats I'm using are almost unchanged from last week's Wyndham Championship, where accuracy is more important.
