Fantasy Football: 3 Bold Predictions for NFL Week 7

Fantasy Football Bold Predictions at a Glance
- Kenneth Walker finishes outside the top 15 RBs
- Tyler Shough finishes outside the top 20 QBs
- Puka Nacua goes for 150 receiving yards
Fantasy football is all about making the right calls before the games begin, and sometimes that means going against the grain.
Each week, there are players poised to outperform expectations, surprise us with their production, or fall short of what fantasy managers are expecting. While these predictions are certainly bold, they’re not pulled out of thin air. Matchups, usage, game environment and recent trends can all point toward an outcome that the consensus may be overlooking.
With that in mind, here are three bold fantasy football predictions to keep an eye on this week.

NFL Bold Predictions for This Week (Week 7)
Kenneth Walker III Finishes Outside the Top 15 Running Backs
Kenneth Walker III - Rushing Yds
Calling for Kenneth Walker III to finish outside the top 15 at running back qualifies as plenty bold considering what he's done since joining the Kansas City Chiefs.
Walker has been spectacular through five games, rushing 106 times for 665 yards and six touchdowns. That's a whopping 6.3 yards per carry, and he's added 14 receptions for 95 yards and another two scores through the air. He's finished as a top-four fantasy running back in every game he's played this season.
Week 7 could finally be where that incredible run comes to an end.
Walker travels to face his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, on Sunday Night Football. While Seattle hasn't completely erased opposing running backs from a fantasy perspective, this is a tougher matchup than Walker has dealt with in several of his games thus far. There's also some reason to expect his touchdown production to cool off eventually after Walker found the end zone eight times across his first five games.
None of this means fantasy managers should consider benching Walker. His workload and explosiveness make him an obvious weekly starter. But a road matchup with Seattle coupled with some potential touchdown regression could result in Walker's first merely ordinary fantasy performance of 2026.
Tyler Shough Finishes Outside the Top 20 Quarterbacks
Tyler Shough - Passing Yds
Tyler Shough is coming off a monster fantasy performance for the New Orleans Saints, accounting for four touchdowns in last week's 34-27 win over the Giants.
However, the underlying passing numbers weren't nearly as impressive.
Shough completed only 16 of 30 passes for 144 yards, giving him just 4.8 yards per attempt. That came one week after he managed just 96 passing yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions against Minnesota. Over those two games, Shough has completed 32 of 55 passes for just 240 yards.
That makes this week's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers concerning.
Shough's four touchdowns masked an inefficient passing performance last week, and that kind of scoring output is difficult to count on repeating. His rushing ability gives him another path to fantasy production -- he ran five times for 32 yards and a score against New York -- but he'll likely need another touchdown-heavy outing to overcome his recent lack of passing yardage.
If Pittsburgh keeps Shough from producing multiple touchdowns, another modest passing performance could leave him well outside the QB1 conversation. I'm taking it one step further and calling for Shough to finish outside the top 20 quarterbacks in Week 7.
Puka Nacua Goes for 150+ Receiving Yards
Puka Nacua going for 150-plus receiving yards sounds maybe too aggressive until you look at the type of workload he's capable of handling for the Los Angeles Rams.
Nacua has played four games this season and already amassed 37 receptions for 417 receiving yards. That's 104.3 receiving yards per game, and he's averaging 13.0 targets per appearance.
We've already seen just how absurd his ceiling can get. Nacua caught 9 passes for 125 yards against Philadelphia in Week 4 before erupting for 17 receptions and 138 yards against Buffalo in Week 5. The latter performance came on an incredible 24 targets. He followed that up with a quieter 6-catch, 80-yard showing against Arizona last week.
That makes Sunday's matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders an appealing bounce-back spot.
Nacua doesn't necessarily need a handful of low-percentage deep balls to reach 150 yards. His ability to command double-digit targets and create yardage after the catch gives him several avenues to a ceiling game. He has already topped 125 receiving yards twice in four appearances this season, and his 2025 campaign showed just how consistently he can generate huge yardage totals when healthy.
LA will also be without Davante Adams, which should make Puka the clear No. 1 option for Matthew Stafford.
After being held to 80 yards last week, Nacua gets back to seeing massive volume against Las Vegas and turns it into his first 150-yard receiving game of the 2026 regular season.
Fantasy Football Bold Predictions FAQ
What is a bold prediction in fantasy football?
A bold prediction is an outcome that goes beyond the week's consensus expectations but still has a realistic path to happening. That could include a player significantly outperforming his ranking, an unexpected breakout game, or a highly ranked player struggling.
What factors go into weekly fantasy football bold predictions?
Matchups, injuries, projected workload, target volume, snap rate, recent performance, and changes to a player's role can all factor into weekly bold predictions.
Should bold predictions influence start/sit decisions?
They can provide another perspective, but they shouldn't be the only factor in a lineup decision. Fantasy managers should also consider player rankings, projected usage, matchup quality, and their available alternatives.
