Pitcher Breakdown

There is only one pitcher with a salary above $10,000, and that is Tyler Glasnow ($10,600) of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Glasnow carries a high ceiling anytime he takes the mound as he's in the 96th percentile in xERA (2.63) and 95th percentile in strikeout rate (33.0%), but the San Diego Padres have the second-lowest strikeout rate (17.4%) versus right-handed pitching over the last 30 days.

Hunter Brown ($9,800) has been fantastic recently, posting 43-plus FanDuel points in seven of his last nine starts. Brown could be in store for another productive outing with the Pittsburgh Pirates registering the 9th-worst wOBA (.301), 7th-worst wRC+ (92), and 13th-worst ISO (.158) in the last 30 days when facing right-handed pitching.

Robbie Ray ($9,300) can be extremely volatile due to walks and control issues, but he has a ton of upside after scoring 42 FanDuel points -- and striking out eight batters -- in his season debut versus the Dodgers. Considering that the Oakland Athletics have the third-best wRC+ (153) and second-best ISO (.247) versus southpaws over the last 30 days, Ray should only be considered in tournaments on Tuesday.

Facing the Chicago White Sox should put Michael Wacha ($9,100) on our radars as Chicago is on a 15-game losing streak. This will be the fourth time Wacha has faced the White Sox this season, and he put up 52-plus FanDuel points in two of the first three meetings.

Stacks to Target

  • Arizona Diamondbacks (5.32 implied total) -- Going up against Patrick Corbin, who ranks in just the second percentile in xERA (5.85), first percentile in xBA (.309), and fourth percentile in hard-hit rate (47.0%). Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks are rocking the 7th-best wOBA (.331), 8th-best wRC+ (113), and the 10th-lowest strikeout rate (20.8%) against left-handed pitching in 2024.
  • Seattle Mariners (5.10) -- Stacking the Mariners against James Paxton can be risky as they possess the third-highest strikeout rate (25.7%) versus lefties, but the matchup with Paxton at Fenway is tough to ignore. Paxton is sitting in the 16th percentile in xERA (4.87), 9th percentile in strikeout rate (16.4%), 9th percentile in walk rate (12.3%), and 15th percentile in hard-hit rate (43.3%) through 18 starts this year.
  • New York Mets (4.39) -- David Festa was logging a 34.9% strikeout rate in Triple-A this year, but he's tallied a 5.21 xERA, 14.6% barrel rate, and 48.9% flyball rate in three appearances for the Minnesota Twins. Provided those numbers, the Mets could do plenty of damage with winds blowing out at nearly 20 MPH to left field at Citi Field.
  • Colorado Rockies (4.29) -- Not many people like to stack the Rockies away from Coors Field, but Griffin Canning is a below-average pitcher, and Angel Stadium is a hitter-friendly venue. Canning ranks in the 16th percentile in xERA (4.87), 8th percentile in strikeout rate (16.3%), and 30th percentile in hard-hit rate (40.9%) while allowing three-plus earned runs in 12 of his 21 starts thus far. Colorado could go overlooked on a slate with plenty of stacking options.
