Pitcher Breakdown

There isn't a pitcher on today's slate that possesses a higher ceiling than Tyler Glasnow ($10,500) of the Los Angeles Dodgers. While the Philadelphia Phillies can do damage at any time at the plate, they do have the fourth-worst wOBA (.289), fourth-worst wRC+ (84), ninth-worst ISO (.151), and ninth-highest strikeout rate (24.3%) against right-handed pitching in the last 30 days. The one concern is that Glasnow has given up three-plus earned runs in three of his last four starts.

Logan Webb ($10,000) is coming off a complete-game shutout, but his lack of strikeout upside could make him worth avoiding at this salary versus the Washington Nationals. Meanwhile, Aaron Nola ($9,800), Hunter Brown ($9,600), and Zac Gallen ($9,400) are notable pitchers who have tougher matchups on Monday. Of the bunch, Nola may have the most appeal as the Dodgers have the second-highest strikeout rate (26.8%) in the last month when facing right-handed pitchers.

Among the salary-saving options, JP Sears ($8,600) is the clear standout ahead of a favorable matchup versus the Chicago White Sox. Sears has been credited with a win in four of his last five starts -- with nine Ks and 58 FanDuel points in his last outing -- while the White Sox have lost 20 consecutive games.

Stacks to Target

  • Kansas City Royals (5.29 implied total) -- James Paxton has been a pitcher we've targeted all year as he resides in the 17th percentile in xERA (4.83), 10th percentile in walk rate (11.9%), and 14th percentile in hard-hit rate (43.5%). While the Royals aren't dominant against lefties, they've scored five-plus runs in five of their last seven contests.
  • San Francisco Giants (5.00) -- The team that is squaring off against Patrick Corbin is always going to be projected for plenty of runs as he ranks in the third percentile in xERA (5.84), first percentile in xBA (.310), and fourth percentile in hard-hit rate (47.0%). San Francisco boasts the seventh-best wOBA (.350), sixth-best wRC+ (131), and fourth-best ISO (.232) in the last month when facing left-handed pitching.
  • Oakland Athletics (4.75) -- Whether Jonathan Cannon or Ky Bush starts for the White Sox, the Athletics are an enticing team to stack on Monday. Even though the Oakland Coliseum isn't viewed as a hitter-friendly venue, the Athletics are sporting the third-best wOBA (.373), best wRC+ (152), and third-best ISO (.232) at home over the last 30 days.
  • Arizona Diamondbacks (4.41) -- Whenever the Diamondbacks are facing a lefty pitcher, they are worth stacking in DFS as they own the third-best wOBA (.335) and seventh-best wRC+ (117) in that split in 2024. Logan Allen is slated to start for the Cleveland Guardians, and he is in the fifth percentile in xERA (5.54), barrel rate (11.1%), and hard-hit rate (46.1%). Using Geraldo Perdomo ($2,800) in a wraparound stack with Ketel Marte ($3,900) seems like an ideal strategy with Perdomo contributing 15-plus FanDuel points in five of his last six contests.
