Pitcher Breakdown

Sonny Gray ($10,800) and George Kirby ($10,500) are the two pitchers above $10,000 on FanDuel who have favorable matchups on Friday's main slate. Gray ranks in the 92nd percentile in strikeout rate (30.7%) while the Washington Nationalshave the 7th-worst wOBA (.299), 6th-worst wRC+ (91), 10th-worst ISO (.144), and 14th-highest strikeout rate (23.1%) versus right-handed pitching over the last 30 days.

Kirby has a solid floor with 32-plus FanDuel points in nine consecutive starts, and the Chicago White Sox are recording the worst wOBA (.257), worst wRC+ (63), third-worst ISO (.123), and second-highest strikeout rate (27.1%) in the last 30 days when facing right-handed pitchers.

Others to Consider

  • Freddy Peralta ($9,900 vs. MIA) - Should be the most popular pitching option when considering he's in the 91st percentile in strikeout rate (30.4%) while facing a Miami Marlins team that has the second-worst wOBA (.288) and fourth-worst wRC+ (84) against right-handed pitching this season.
  • Kodai Senga ($8,500 vs. ATL) - Making his season debut against an Atlanta Braves squad that has the fourth-worst wOBA (.287), fourth-worst wRC+ (83), and fourth-highest strikeout rate (25.6%) versus righties in the last 30 days. This could be one of the last times we get Senga at a sub-$9,000 salary on FanDuel.
  • Drew Thorpe ($8,000 vs. SEA) - Might be figuring things out with 34-plus FanDuel points in four of his last five outings. The Seattle Mariners are posting the fourth-worst wOBA (.292), seventh-worst wRC+ (93), and highest strikeout rate (28.6%) against right-handed pitching in 2024.

Stacks to Target

  • Baltimore Orioles (5.15 implied total) -- Carry the highest projected run total with Adam Mazur -- who has a 5.86 SIERA and 6.03 xFIP -- pitching for the San Diego Padres. Mazur is permitting a .438 wOBA, 2.38 WHIP, and 1.69 HR/9 to left-handed hitters.
  • Oakland Athletics (4.87) -- Own the seventh-best wOBA (.342), third-best wRC+ (127), and fourth-best ISO (.204) against righties in the last 30 days while Carson Fulmer has yet to pitch five-plus innings this season.
  • Kansas City Royals (4.86) -- Face Kyle Hendricks at home, who is in the 11th percentile in xERA (5.03), 4th percentile in xBA (.286), and 6th percentile in strikeout rate (15.8%).
  • Los Angeles Angels (4.63) -- Paul Blackburn is making his first start for the Athletics since May 10, and he only built up to 49 pitches in his rehab starts. Joey Estes could also see some work if Blackburn makes an early exit.
