Our daily fantasy helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups.
Be sure to also incorporate numberFire's great tools into your research process, including daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, and batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups.
Let's check out the top options on today's main slate.
Pitchers
Nathan Eovaldi ($10,000)
At his lowest salary this month after Eovaldi was wrecked for a season-low -6.6 FanDuel points earlier this week, the Rangers' right-hander has a great spot to rebound against an Oakland Athletics' offense with a .310 weighted on-base average (wOBA) and a 26.3% K-rate.
Although Eovaldi has struggled in his most recent four starts when examining his 5.56 expected Fielding Independent Pitching rating (xFIP) and 14.6% walk rate through 19.2 innings, the 33-year old veteran still ranks second overall with a 35.4 FanDuel point projection against a team he produced 45.1 FanDuel points and 12 strikeouts earlier this season.
Logan Webb ($9,800)
Despite producing consecutive quality starts in his last two appearances, Webb's salary has not moved against a Colorado Rockies' lineup with a .300 wOBA and a 27.0% K-rate.
In 61.0 innings since July 17th despite recording a mediocre 4.28 Earned Run Average, San Francisco's fifth-year starter has produced solid expected metrics through the second half of this season, accounting for a 3.17 xFIP, 3.36 Skill Interactive Earned Run Average, and a quality start in 60% of his appearances.
When evaluating Webb's recent form in his past ten starts and his personal success in this matchup (4 earned runs allowed in 14.1 innings, 13 strikeouts), it should not be surprising to see the Giants' right-hander rank as today's pitcher with a 37.3 fantasy projection and a slate-high 3.80 value rating .
Stacks
In the midst of a recent offensive slump with seven total runs in their past three games, the Rangers will attempt to break out at home against Oakland's left-hander Kyle Muller and his unsightly 5.31 xFIP as a starter this season.
While most would expect left-handed bats to struggle in this split, ideal Rangers' stacks can include any of their top hitters from either side of the plate to attack Muller's neutral splits (5.07 career xFIP against RHH and LHH) with main targets focused on Corey Seager (.432 expected wOBA, 17.8% barrel rate), Marcus Semien (.334 expected wOBA, .266 expected average), Nathaniel Lowe (.340 expected wOBA, .263 expected wOBA), and Mitch Garver (.381 expected wOBA, 15.5% barrel rate).
After scoring eight runs in the first game of this series, MLB's top offense should have another opportunity to put up similar numbers versus Johan Oviedo and his glaring inability to get outs against left-handed bats (5.02 xFIP, 12.7% walk rate, .322 wOBA).
With his main weakness in mind, Atlanta's intimidating lineup presents plenty of options to attack Oviedo's profile including Matt Olson (.394 expected wOBA, 17.3% barrel rate), Ozzie Albies (.330 expected wOBA, 8.4% barrel rate), Eddie Rosario (.336 expected wOBA, 10.6% barrel rate), and Michael Harris II (.350 expected wOBA, 9.4% barrel rate).
Ranking third on today's main slate with a 4.81 expected run total, the Giants could be an overlooked option despite a favorable matchup against Chase Anderson and his massive struggles this season including a 5.45 xFIP in a starting role.
Ideal San Francisco stacks can feature any of their top power hitters with a lean towards right-handed bats to counter Anderson's unique reverse splits (5.62 xFIP, 13.9% K-rate) including Wilmer Flores (.340 expected wOBA, 8.3% barrel rate), Mitch Haniger (10.7% barrel rate), and J.D. Davis (9.5% barrel rate) while Joc Pederson (.375 expected wOBA, 13.0% barrel rate), LaMonte Wade Jr (.363 expected wOBA, 10.2% barrel rate), and Mike Yastrzemski (9.7% barrel rate) should be mixed in with their power metrics from the left side.
