College football returns with a full Week 0 slate on Saturday, giving us our first opportunity of the season to dive into the player prop market.

The board isn't quite as deep as we'll see once the season gets into full swing, but there are still several intriguing spots. We'll target two quarterbacks in favorable passing matchups, a highly touted freshman tight end, and one of the Mountain West's top returning running backs.

Here are four college football player props to consider for today.

Week 0 College Football Player Props for Today

San Jose State vs. USC, 3 p.m. ET

Jayden Maiava Over 284.5 Passing Yards (-114)

The USC Trojans enter Saturday as a massive favorite against the San Jose State Spartans, and Jayden Maiava should have an opportunity to put up a big number before the Trojans take their foot off the gas.

Maiava threw for 3,711 yards and 28 touchdowns last season while completing 70.3% of his passes. He averaged 285.5 passing yards per game and enters 2026 as one of the more established quarterbacks in the country.

San Jose State presents an especially appealing matchup. The Spartans are replacing their entire starting defense from a season ago after finishing 109th nationally in passing yards allowed per game.

There's always some blowout risk when backing a quarterback on a team favored by nearly 40 points, but USC coach Lincoln Riley has never been shy about throwing in favorable non-conference matchups. Maiava threw for 295 yards on only 18 attempts against Missouri State in last year's opener, and he exceeded 284.5 passing yards in both of USC's non-conference games in which he handled a normal workload.

Hawaii vs. Stanford, 7 p.m. ET

Micah Alejado 275+ Passing Yards (+126)

Micah Alejado is another quarterback I'm interested in backing on Saturday.

Alejado threw for 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns last season while averaging 282.4 passing yards per game. The Hawaii Warriors‘ pass-heavy offense gives him a tremendous opportunity for volume, and Timmy Chang isn't likely to suddenly abandon his aggressive approach in the season opener.

The Stanford Cardinal could have trouble slowing Hawaii’s passing attack. The Cardinal are still attempting to rebuild their roster after some lean seasons, while Hawaii enters the campaign with substantially more continuity at quarterback.

Alejado demonstrated a legitimate ceiling last year, producing four 300-yard performances — including a pair of 400-yard days — while leading Hawaii to a 9-4 season. We essentially need him to match his 2025 per-game average to clear this alternate line.

This is my favorite player prop for today.

Memphis vs. UNLV, 10 p.m. ET

Jai'Den Thomas Anytime TD + UNLV to Win (-105)

We'll finish with a combination prop involving UNLV Rebels running back Jai'Den Thomas.

Thomas was the centerpiece of UNLV's rushing attack last season, finishing with 1,036 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. His combination of workload and goal-line usage gives him an excellent chance to find the end zone whenever the Rebels are favored. That's the case against the Memphis Tigers as UNLV is favored by 4.5 points.

UNLV is at home while Memphis enters 2026 undergoing significant turnover under first-year head coach Charles Huff. The Tigers brought in a ton of new players during the offseason, making Week 0 a difficult spot for Memphis on the road against an established UNLV program.

Thomas gives us a natural way to correlate the two outcomes. If UNLV wins as expected, there's a good chance its lead running back plays a meaningful role in putting points on the board.

Rather than taking the -240 odds on Thomas to score, pairing his touchdown with a UNLV victory gets us close to even money.
