Brewers vs. Rays Prediction: MLB Picks and Props for World Series Game 3

Rays-Brewers World Series Game 3 Picks in Summary

  • Rays Moneyline (-120)
  • Robert Gasser Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-128)

The 2026 World Series shifts to Tropicana Field on Monday night, with the Milwaukee Brewers taking a 2-0 series lead into Game 3 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Milwaukee has won the first two games by a combined two runs, so despite the series score, there hasn't been much separating these teams.

Tampa Bay will turn to Freddy Peralta in an effort to get back into the series while Milwaukee counters with left-hander Robert Gasser.

Here are the best bets for Brewers-Rays Game 3 at FanDuel Sportsbook.

MLB Prediction, Picks: Rays vs. Brewers World Series Game 3

Tampa Bay Rays Moneyline (-120)

The Tampa Bay Rays are facing a virtual must-win spot, and Peralta gives them a legitimate starting-pitching advantage over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Peralta enters Game 3 with a 1.08 ERA across 16 2/3 postseason innings. His recent run extends well beyond October, too, as he's gone 7-0 with a 0.89 ERA over his last 10 appearances dating back to late August.

The move back to Tropicana Field should also help the Rays. Tampa Bay went 55-26 at home during the regular season, tied for the best home record in baseball. Peralta has been excellent there since joining the Rays, recording a 1.45 ERA across 37 1/3 innings at The Trop.

Milwaukee has been outstanding throughout October, but the Brewers have needed their bullpen heavily. With Tampa Bay finally getting home-field advantage and its hottest starter on the mound, I’m backing the Rays to win Game 3.

Robert Gasser Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-128)

This is my favorite player prop for Game 3.

Gasser isn't a pitcher who needs to rack up strikeouts to be effective. His 2026 numbers against right-handed hitters are particularly notable for this matchup as he had a 4.66 FIP in the split, compared to a 3.33 FIP in lefty-lefty matchups.

That's relevant because Tampa Bay can load its lineup with right-handed bats to start this one. The Rays have also been one of baseball's better contact teams, entering Game 3 with a 20.7% whiff rate that ranks as the lowest in MLB.

Gasser has only 6 strikeouts so far this postseason, and Milwaukee has been aggressive about turning games over to its bullpen rather than asking starters to face a lineup three times. That combination of a low-strikeout profile, a contact-heavy opponent, and uncertain workload makes under 3.5 strikeouts the side I prefer.

MLB Betting Frequently Asked Questions

What are MLB player prop bets?

MLB player prop bets are wagers on specific statistical outcomes tied to individual players during a game — not on which team wins or loses. You might bet on how many strikeouts a starting pitcher records, whether a shortstop gets a hit, or how many total bases an outfielder accumulates.

Because they are isolated to a single player's performance, props let you apply focused knowledge about matchups, recent form, and ballpark conditions rather than predicting the full game result.

What types of MLB player props are available?

FanDuel offers a wide menu of MLB props. The most common categories include:

  • Pitcher strikeouts
  • Batter hits
  • Home runs
  • Total bases
  • RBIs
  • Stolen bases
  • Pitcher outs recorded

How do MLB player prop bet odds work?

MLB prop odds use the standard American (moneyline) format. A negative number shows how much you must wager to profit $100. A positive number shows how much a $100 bet returns in profit.

  • -110 odds — bet $110 to win $100
  • +130 odds — bet $100 to win $130
  • -200 odds — bet $200 to win $100

What does "total bases" mean as a prop bet?

The total bases prop counts the bases a batter earns from hits in a single game:

  • Single = 1 base
  • Double = 2 bases
  • Triple = 3 bases
  • Home run = 4 bases

Walks, hit-by-pitches, and stolen bases do not count. A typical total bases line is set at 1.5 or 2.5. Betting over 1.5 means you need at least a double, or two singles.
