5 Games to Watch This Weekend: UConn-Gonzaga Starts Up a Massive Stretch

Who’s ready for a great weekend?

Check below for our list of five games to watch this weekend in college basketball.

In no particular order:

Gonzaga vs. UConn (Friday)

Seattle will play host to this rematch from last season's Elite Eight. The Bulldogs possess tremendous balance as five different players are averaging in double figures while the Huskies may have the sport's highest ceiling. Keep an eye on UConn freshman Stephon Castle, who's playing in his third game since returning from an early season knee injury.

Kansas at Indiana (Saturday)

Assembly Hall should be on fire for this game, which is a matchup of two of college basketball's marquee programs. The Hoosiers are desperate for a signature win, especially after losing by 28 points to Auburn last week in Atlanta. This game should feature a big-time matchup in the middle between Kansas' Hunter Dickinson and Indiana's Kel'el Ware, who spent last season at Oregon.

Baylor vs. Michigan State (Saturday)

The Spartans are just 4-5 in their first nine games but always seem to thrive under adversity under Tom Izzo. They'll need to against the Bears, who have been one of the elite offensive teams in the country. Baylor enters Saturday's game in Detroit averaging more than 87 points per game against power conference opponents, with six different players averaging in double figures.

Arizona vs. Purdue (Saturday)

Indianapolis will play host to this heavyweight showdown, which feels like a Final Four-caliber game. Tommy Lloyd's squad has incredible balance, but it does not have anyone like Zach Edey. The reigning National Player of the Year enters Saturday's game averaging 24.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks.

Kentucky vs. North Carolina (Saturday)

The CBS Sports Classic is always one of the best early-season events on the calendar, and this one is no different. After Ohio State trades wits with UCLA, these two blue bloods will take centerstage. Keep an eye on the Wildcats' young perimeter against North Carolina's RJ Davis, who is playing like an All-American.
