NHL Prop Bets

Joe Pavelski To Score a Goal (+200)

The Dallas Stars get the second half of the season started against the Buffalo Sabres, which presents a favorable matchup.

A 3.55 implied goal total for the Stars leads tonight's slate and it brings me to Joe Pavelski for a goal. The veteran ended the last 10 games before the All-Star break with 33 shots on goal and 4 goals.

However, those goals were centered around just a few games, and over the last four games he had 18 shots on goal and no goals. The Stars' offense was on fire over the last two weeks, producing 3.33 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which was the fifth-highest in the league.

When it comes to the Sabres' defense this season, they've allowed the 12th most (109) High Danger Shots Against this season. That bodes well for Pavelski, who has the second-most (17) High Danger Unblocked Shot Attempts on the Stars this season.

With the role Pavelski plays for the Stars, he should have plenty of opportunities to generate scoring chances and find the back of the net.

Zach Hyman Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+102)

The Edmonton Oilers are the hottest team in the league and look to keep that rolling versus the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Oilers are riding a 16-game winning streak and will look to push their offense against Vegas, who has been a bit up and down as of late.

Over the last two weeks, the Golden Knights are allowing 64.89 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the sixth-worst in the league.

With a role on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, Zach Hyman is primed for a big game. Hyman leads the Oilers with 163 shots on goal this season or 3.7 per game and ended the last 10 games before the All-Star break with 36 shots on goal.

The matchup is solid and it will allow Hyman to continue his strong performance from the first half of the season.

Mikko Rantanen To Record 4+ Shots on Goal (+150)

A high-volume shooter and great odds make Mikko Rantanen an interesting target tonight.

At +150 odds for 4+ shots on goal, Rantanen should be near the top of the list tonight.

Rantanen has hit this prop in five of his last 10 games and coming off a game with just a single shot on goal. This is a prime bounceback game for a player who is averaging 3.34 shots on goal per game.

He now gets to take on the New Jersey Devils, who allowed 61.21 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the ninth-worst in the league over the last two weeks.

With a role on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, Rantanen should have the chances to pile up the shots against a weak defense.
