NHL Prop Bets

Ross Colton To Score a Goal (+350)

The Colorado Avalanche are on fire right now and up against a struggling Los Angeles Kings' lineup.

Over the Avs' last 12 games, they have scored at least three goals 11 times, and are a threat to push past that every night. In the last two weeks, they have scored 3.74 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the best in the NHL.

During that same time, the Kings have allowed 3.39 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-worst in the league. On top of that, the Kings have also allowed the sixth-most (1.60) High Danger Goals in the same situations.

Oddly enough, the Avalanche are scoring 2.28 High Danger Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations over the last two weeks, which is the second-best in the league.

With Valeri Nichushkin out of the lineup for the Avalanche, Ross Colton has taken over his spot on the first power-play unit, which is the one directly in front of the net.

Colton comes in with 20 High Danger Unblocked Shot Attempts, which is second on the team behind Nichushkin's 33. Given the struggles of the Kings' defense and Colton's new role, he has a chance to find the back of the net tonight.

Trevor Moore Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+120)

The Kings are going to need plenty of offensive chances to keep up with the Avalanche and their high-powered offense.

As noted above, the Kings are struggling right now but it's not for a lack of trying. Over the last two weeks, their offense is generating 70.61 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-best in the league. However, they are only scoring 1.78 Goals, which is the sixth-lowest.

In short, they are taking an insane amount of shot attempts, but simply aren't scoring. While that may impact them actually winning games, we are here for a shot prop.

That leads me to Trevor Moore, who comes in with 39 shots on goal over his last 10 games, while seeing time on the second forward line and the second power-play unit.

Over the last two weeks, the Avalanche have allowed 68.68 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the second-worst in the NHL.

Moore and the Kings need to get the offense going tonight, and the Avs' defense should allow him to get plenty of looks at the net.

Sam Reinhart Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-118)

The Florida Panthers have a 3.43 implied goal total against the Pittsburgh Penguins in what should be a high-scoring matchup.

Sam Reinhart has been fantastic for the Panthers this season, leading the team and ranking second in the league with 35 goals.

He likes to shoot the puck at the net and has done so 34 times in his last 10 games while seeing time on the third forward line and the first power-play unit.

When we look at the other two skaters on the third forward line, they have 27 and 14 shots over the last 10 games. Reinhart is the primary shooter for that line and should continue that tonight.

Over the last two weeks, the Panthers lead the league with 74.36 Total Shot Attempts Created per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. Reinhart is also coming off a game where he had just a single shot on goal, putting him in a nice bounce-back spot.
