3 NFL Player Prop Bets for Monday Night Football: Week 6, Cowboys at Chargers

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy football on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NFL player props bets that look appealing.

CeeDee Lamb Any Time Touchdown (+150)/
CeeDee Lamb Over 73.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Monday Night Football closes out Week 6 with the Los Angeles Chargers hosting the Dallas Cowboys.

A close 1.5-point spread in favor of the home Chargers and a juicy 50.5 over/under is a good indication we are going to see plenty of scoring tonight. Under that premise, we want player props that reflect that, so let's take a look at a pair from CeeDee Lamb.

When it comes to the Cowboys' passing offense and Lamb, he leads them in nearly every category except for average depth of target (aDOT) and red zone target share.

Lamb leads the Cowboys with a 73.1% snap rate, running a route on 88.0% of dropbacks, 21.9% target share, and 27.5% air yards share, all while having the second-highest red zone target share (14.7%). Last season, Lamb also had the second-highest red zone target share, but it was up at 21.4%, so I expect it to increase as the weeks go on.

Despite Lamb's large role, he has found the endzone just a single time this season but this is a great matchup for him to change that.

The Chargers' defense has allowed 927 receiving yards to opposing wide receivers this season, which is 16th in the league. That's good for 231 yards per game, which is the worst in the league on a per-game basis. They've only played four games this season and are still worse than some teams with a full six games played.

Between his high involvement in the offense and a super favorable matchup, Lamb is primed for a big game on Monday Night.

Tony Pollard Over 23.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

From one Cowboy to another and that would be Tony Pollard.

Specifically, over 23.5 receiving yards for Pollard, who should see plenty of chances in the passing game.

Pollard has been over this mark twice this season in games against the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers. Both of those defenses are known for bringing the pressure against quarterbacks, which is what we should be expecting tonight.

Chargers' defensive end, Joey Bosa, is expected to play tonight, which is a boost for their ability to get after the quarterback.

When Dak Prescott is under pressure, he doesn't have time to sit in the pocket and look downfield, he has to get the ball out early and that means plenty of work for Pollard.

This season, Pollard has a -0.2 average depth of target. That means Prescott is targeting Pollard behind the line of scrimmage for those easy completions. Those completions should lead to easy yards since the Chargers have allowed the eight-most (218) receiving yards to running backs this season.

All of this puts Pollard in a great spot to grab some receiving yards tonight and cash the over on his prop.
