3 NBA Player Prop Bets for Tuesday 2/6/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Using a wealth of statistical data, including numberFire's daily basketball projections, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing via the NBA odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NBA Prop Bets

Terry Rozier To Score 15+ Points (-105)

After being traded to the Miami Heat in mid-January, Terry Rozier looks like he is finding his groove with his new team, so let's target him to score 15-plus points in tonight's matchup against the Orlando Magic.

On the season, Rozier is averaging 21.0 points per game. He is netting only 12.2 points per night in six games as a Miami starter, but he's reached 15.0 points in half of those games.

Plus, Rozier put up shaky shooting numbers during the start of his tenure in Miami. While on the Charlotte Hornets, he was shooting the ball at a 45.9% clip, but since joining the Heat, he has been struggling with a 32.9% field goal percentage.

Despite the poor shooting performances, he has still scored at least 15 points in two straight games and has a great opportunity to get back on track tonight.

Orlando is allowing opposing guards to shoot the ball at the league's 11th-highest clip. They are surrendering the sixth-most free throw attempts to guards, and Rozier has been scoring 23.2% of his points from the foul line since joining Miami.

The Magic's defense is great (fifth-best defensive rating in the NBA), but they are particularly stellar at containing opposing bigs. Over their last seven games, Orlando has been letting up the third-most points and second-most three-point makes to shooting guards.

Rozier scored 22.0 points against the Magic earlier this season, albeit with the Hornets. This matchup and Rozier's shot volume with Miami is encouraging enough for me to side with a 15-point performance.

Josh Hart Over 9.5 Rebounds (+106)

The New York Knicks have been riddled with injuries as of late, causing Josh Hart to step into the frame and become a major presence on the boards.

Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, and Quentin Grimes all remain out for New York in tonight's contest against the Memphis Grizzlies, so it seems right to target Hart's rebounding prop.

Hart has found his way into New York's starting lineup in 10 games this season. In that span, he is averaging 9.5 rebounds and eclipsed 9.5 rebounds in six of those contests.

But in the last four games, the Knicks have been without both Randle and Anunoby. Hart grabbed over 9.5 rebounds in all of these contests, averaging 11.3 boards per night in this split.

It's a short sample, but we've yet to see Hart fail to reach double-digits in the rebound category without these key Knick starters. He has also been seeing a towering 17.3 rebound chances per night in this span, so I see no reason to fade him in this matchup against the Grizzlies.

Memphis has been surrendering the third-most rebounds per game this season. They are also securing the fewest contested rebounds in the league.

The Knicks, meanwhile, lead the league in rebound chances per game. A matchup that pits one of the weakest rebounding teams against one of the league's best means there should be plenty of boards to go around for New York in this one. I'll happily take the plus-odds on this prop.

Jabari Smith Over 11.5 Points (-120)

Jabari Smith is averaging 13.1 points per game this season, and a date with the Indiana Pacers could, at the very least, constitute an average scoring night for the Houston Rockets' young power forward.

Indiana is giving up more points per game to power forwards than any other team in the league.

Since acquiring Pascal Siakam last month, the Pacers have managed to clean up their defense, but they are still giving up the 13th-most points per game since Siakam joined.

Smith is netting a combined 52.1% of his points from either the paint or foul line. Indiana is granting opposing forwards the most free throw attempts per 36 minutes (the second-most since Siakam arrived), as well as the most paint points per game (the seventh-most with Siakam).

Fred VanVleet (left adductor strain) has been ruled out for tonight's contest, which should create more scoring duties for other Houston players.

Smith is averaging 15.8 points per 36 minutes when VanVleet is off the court, and in one VanVleet-less game this season, Smith scored 15 points. Based on this matchup and VanVleet's absence, I think Smith's points prop is set lower than it should be.
