3 NBA Player Prop Bets for Tuesday 1/30/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Using a wealth of statistical data, including numberFire's daily basketball projections, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing via the NBA odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NBA Prop Bets

Bruce Brown Jr. To Score 15+ Points (+140)

The Toronto Raptors are short-staffed, as starters RJ Barrett (knee) and Immanuel Quickley (quad) will be out for tonight's contest against the Chicago Bulls.

Barrett and Quickley have been combining for 37.7 points per game since joining Toronto. A glance at the Raptors' current depth chart shows us that a scoring gap will need to be filled tonight, and I think the newly acquired Bruce Brown Jr. is primed to put up at least 15 points for the North.

Brown was a reliable scorer for the Indiana Pacers before being traded to the Raptors earlier this month. But Indiana has been famous for their high-scoring games, so his stats as a Pacer might not translate to his new team.

However, since Quickley, Barrett, and possibly Jakob Poeltl will be out in this one -- and high-scoring Raptors such as Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby were recently dealt from the team -- Brown's scoring opportunities should be ample against the Bulls. We should expect him to be in the starting lineup and take advantage of Chicago's so-so defense.

The Bulls surrender the second-most three-point makes (3PM) in the league. Brown nets 24.8% of his points from behind the arc and leads the team in 3PM from the right corner, while Chicago gives up more right corner 3PM than any other team in the league.

Brown has scored at least 15 points in five of his last 10 games, one of which came against the Bulls. He also scored 15 against Chicago earlier this season while with the Pacers. I'll take the plus odds that he can perform well in this matchup once again, especially with this injury-riddled Raptors team.

Pascal Siakam Over 26.5 Pts + Reb (-108)

Pascal Siakam and his new Indiana Pacers team will go up against the Boston Celtics for the first game of an NBA on TNT doubleheader.

Thus far, Siakam's six-game tenure with Indiana has gone well. He's averaging 29.0 combined points and rebounds (PR). This is not too far off from his 28.6 PR season average, but encouraging, nonetheless.

I think Siakam will make a meal out of the Celtics in this one. Boston can struggle against big and physically tough players, and injuries going into tonight will do the C's no favors. Al Horford and Luke Kornet will not suit up in what will be the second night of a back-to-back for Boston while Kristaps Porzingis is questionable.

Siakam should draw a friendly defensive matchup. Even if Porzinigis plays, the Celtics will not want to test his limits after sustaining an ankle injury last week, so we should see Siakam get a chance to shine against some of the smaller Celtics.

Myles Turner (back) is questionable for Indiana. If he can't go, Siakam will take on the lion's share of interior scoring and rebounding duties. Boston is giving up the seventh-most offensive rebounds per game -- which will only be worsened with the injuries to their frontcourt -- so look for Siakam to parlay offensive boards with putback points to buff up his PR numbers.

Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) has stated that he plans to return to action tonight, which will only mean good things for Siakam. Hali is the NBA's assist leader and should be a great aid in getting Siakiam great looks down low.

On the season, Siakam touts a 52.9% field goal percentage (FG%). He's already gone up against Boston on four occasions this season, averaging 26.8 PR in this span.

The Celtics held him to a 35.3% FG% or worse in two of these games. But in the two games where he shot at or above his FG% average against Boston, he accumulated 30.5 PR per contest. Given the injuries to Boston's frontcourt, and the fact that Haliburton will be good to go tonight, I think Siakam has a great chance to shoot the ball at a solid clip and surpass 26.5 PR.

Josh Hart Over 7.5 Rebounds (-133)

Julius Randle (shoulder) is out for the New York Knicks, so Josh Hart has moved into the starting lineup.

This season, Hart has started seven games for the Knicks, and he's made a killing on the boards in each contest. As a starter, he is averaging 8.9 rebounds per game and has surpassed 7.5 rebounds in all but one of the aforementioned seven games.

It's a short sample to work with, but if we add in Hart's time in New York's starting unit at the end of last season, we can see that he has grabbed over 7.5 rebounds in 11 of his last 13 games as a starter.

A 13-game sample is enough for me to trust, and the 84.6% hit rate on over 7.5 rebounds is significantly higher than this prop's 57.26% implied probability at -138. So despite the boring odds, it seems we should side with Hart.

He will go up against the Utah Jazz, a team that is deferring rebounds at the ninth-highest rate in the league. Over Utah's last eight games, they've been allowing guards to grab the 12th-most rebounds per 36 minutes. The Jazz have a lot of bigs on their team, but they've shown glimpses of weak spots on the boards, so I think Hart is primed to continue his rebounding trend.
