3 NBA Player Prop Bets for Monday 11/27/23

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Using a wealth of statistical data, including numberFire's daily basketball projections, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing via the NBA odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NBA Prop Bets

D'Angelo Russell Over 22.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-120) / LeBron James Under 25.5 Points (-112)

It's hard not to like D'Angelo Russell to record over 22.5 points, rebounds, and assists (PRA) in tonight's matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Russell averages 26.8 PRA this season, numberFire's model projects him to record 27.2 PRA tonight, and he grabbed 28 PRA in one game against the Sixers last season -- all numbers well above where his PRA line is set.

This is an excellent place to start, plus he has a nice matchup on tap.

The Sixers allow the second-most assists per 36 minutes to starting guards. They aren't particularly sacrificial when it comes to boards, but Russell has secured three-plus rebounds in 14 out of 17 games this season and is averaging 3.5 on the season. Only three rebounds are accounted for in his combo props.

Philly lets up the 10th-most points to starting guards per 36 minutes. They allow the 11th-most free-throw attempts (FTA) to guards per 36 minutes, and Russell scores 12.5% of his points from the foul line. The Sixers also surrender the ninth-most points in the paint to starting guards per 36 minutes, which is where Russell scores 36.8% of his points.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a long-winded injury report -- Russell is the only starter to come into the night without an injury designation -- and this should result in solid usage.

While we're targeting Laker players, I'd look for LeBron James to stay below 26 points.

LeBron is questionable (calf) to play but has battled through this injury designation over LA's last few games. If he plays tonight, I think siding with the under is the right move. He has scored 26-plus in eight out of 16 games this season, but a less than 100% LeBron could result in a usage decrease tonight.

Herbert Jones Over 10.5 Points (+102)

Herbert Jones is averaging 11.6 points per game and is projected for 11.1 points tonight, and I feel confident he will reach these numbers.

Jones scores a combined 97.6% of his points from either the paint (45.7%), free-throw line (22.3%), or behind the arc (29.6%).

Tonight, he will face the Utah Jazz, who allow the fifth-most three-point makes (3PM) per game, the seventh-most points in the paint to forwards per 36 minutes, and the 11th-most free-throw makes to forwards per 36 minutes.

This allowed Jones to score 13 against the Jazz on Saturday. The New Orleans Pelicans have a 118.5 implied team total against Utah. The Pelicans have scored 118-plus points in four games this season -- Jones averaged 17.8 points across those four games.

Myles Turner Over 24.5 Pts + Reb (-113)

The highest game total (239.5) on tonight's slate belongs to the Portland Trail Blazers-Indiana Pacers matchup, and Myles Turner could be the best player to target for props.

Turner is averaging 24.7 points and rebounds (PR) this season, which is right around where he is set for tonight.

However, I think there's a fair chance Turner puts up above-average numbers when considering tonight's opponent, and we hardly need him to tip the typical scales.

Portland allows the seventh-most rebounds and 11th-most points to centers per 36 minutes. Over their last two weeks of play (seven games), they are ceding the second-most rebounds and 10th-most points to center in this split.

Look for Turner to take advantage of Portland's weak paint defense. Turner scores 48.8% of his points in the paint, and Portland gives up the fourth-most points in this area (including to centers per 36 minutes).

Turner can also be a putback machine, as he ranks fifth in the league in putback points per possession. The Blazers, meanwhile, allow the seventh-most putback opportunities, which should allow Turner to parlay offensive rebounds with points.

Further, the Blazers sacrifice the fifth-most points per game to the roll man off of pick-and-rolls. Turner averages the fourth-most points in the league off of pick-and-rolls. He has all the fixings to go off tonight in what is projected to be a points-heavy game.
