3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Thursday 6/27/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

MLB Player Props

Alec Bohm to Record an RBI (+100)

It's a good matchup for the Philadelphia Phillies tonight, so I instantly turn to Alec Bohm as the hitter I want to target from their lineup. I like him to Record an RBI (+100) in tonight's contest.

Philadelphia will face off with the Miami Marlins and their starter, Trevor Rogers, who has continuously struggled all season long.

Rogers has made 15 starts this season. In those games, he's pitched to a 4.90 ERA, 4.62 SIERA, 1.08 HR/9, 1.55 WHIP, and 4.51 FIP. Righty hitters have a .283 average and .351 wOBA against Rogers -- setting up Bohm for a strong night.

The Phillies are locked into the best implied total of the night at 4.99, per numberFire's heat map.

Now, let's look at Bohm. The third baseman has been a force this season at the plate, hitting .304 with a .365 wOBA and .848 OPS. I'm looking to Bohm to knock in a run tonight, which has been his specialty this season. He's third in the majors with 64 RBIs and benefits from hitting behind Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Trea Turner.

With a strong 39.2% hard-hit rate, Bohm is in a spot to come through again for the Phillies and drive in runs.

Juan Soto to Record 2+ Total Bases (+100)

Juan Soto has been a superstar in his first season with the New York Yankees. As the Yanks face off with the Toronto Blue Jays, I have confidence in what Soto can do at the plate.

Toronto will be starting Jose Berrios, who has had his ups and downs this year.

While Berrios has a 3.43 ERA, he's currently got a 4.36 SIERA, 4.99 FIP and 4.77 expected ERA (xERA). The most eye-catching stat of Berrios this season is his 1.58 HR/9 -- as he's already allowed 17 homers through the first half of the season.

That brings us to Soto to Record 2+ Total Bases (+100) tonight.

The outfielder has been out of this world, as shown by his second-place .429 wOBA, which sits behind his teammate, Aaron Judge. Soto is also hitting .303 with .567 slugging, .264 ISO, and 1.001 OPS.

Our projections have Soto as the top DFS producer of the main slate, and he's set up for what should be a huge night against Berrios and the Blue Jays. I'd also consider Soto To Hit a Home Run (+350).

Riley Greene to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110)

Riley Greene has been a shining star for a meh Detroit Tigers squad. With Greene getting a great matchup against the Los Angeles Angels tonight, I'm taking him to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110).

Detroit has a solid 4.68 implied total against Los Angeles, the second-best implied total of the main slate.

The Angels will be starting Davis Daniel. In 12 1/3 innings, Daniel has a 2.19 ERA, but he's got some bad underlying metrics. The 27-year-old has a 5.97 SIERA, 5.04 FIP, and 6.00 expected FIP (xFIP). Greene and the Tigers can have their way against them tonight.

Looking at Greene's season, he's smashing the ball around the yard. With 15 home runs, he's already set a new career high. The .234 batting average may not jump off the page, but he's got strong numbers across the board with a .365 wOBA, .234 ISO, and .848 OPS.

Overall, he has 34 extra-base hits, which is obviously a big help for this market.
