MLB Prop Bets

Bobby Witt Jr. to Record 3+ Total Bases (+130)

Bobby Witt Jr. has had an impressive start to the 2024 MLB season, and he should keep things up tonight in a good matchup.

The Kansas City Royals will take on the Milwaukee Brewers, who will start Bryse Wilson.

Wilson has been solid enough for Milwaukee, posting a 3.00 ERA and 3.79 SIERA through nine appearances (three starts). It seems like an outlier thus far, however, as his career numbers include a 4.72 SIERA. The 3.00 ERA has been a bit of luck, as his expected ERA (xERA) sits at 4.14. Milwaukee's starter also has a 4.57 FIP this season.

numberFire's heat map has the Royals in for a good night, heading into tonight with the second-best implied total (4.52).

Witt is hitting the cover off the ball. He has a .398 wOBA, .319 batting average, .551 SLG, and .232 ISO. It's been his breakout season, recording 19 extra-base hits in his first 35 games. I like Witt to Record 3+ Total Bases (+130) thanks to his .973 OPS, .418 wOBA, and 169 wRC+ against righties.

Tonight's matchup sets up Witt Jr. to thrive at the plate.

Adolis Garcia to Record 2+ Total Bases (+100)

The Texas Rangers are in a good position against the Oakland Athletics tonight -- as you'd expect in such a matchup.

They'll be taking on the Athletics' Opening Day starter, Alex Wood. Wood has pitched poorly this season -- as his 6.32 ERA, 5.49 FIP, and 4.81 SIERA show pretty clearly. He's only made it through five innings in three of his seven starts, so when he's in there, it's not for a long time. But, as long as he's pitching, we can expect the lineup that oppose him to take advantage.

That leads us to consider Adolis Garcia to Record 2+ Total Bases (+100).

Garcia hasn't lost a step this season, powering 8 home runs with a .374 wOBA, 42.6% hard-hit rate, and 43.6% fly-ball rate. These numbers are exactly what you look for from someone, especially when betting on total bases. Wood has a 36.3% hard-hit rate and 38.4% fly-ball rate -- both of which are inviting for any lineup, let alone a guy like Garcia who thrives in those metrics.

The Rangers' outfielder has a .246 ISO, 7 doubles, and 8 home runs. Those numbers led to Garcia potentially nabbing an extra-base hit tonight, making the bases all that much easier for him to achieve.

Garcia has destroyed lefties this season -- to the tune of a .422 wOBA and .985 OPS -- so let's ride with him tonight.

Max Muncy to Record an RBI (+135)

Max Muncy could not be any hotter at the plate coming into tonight, so let's get him to Record an RBI (+135).

The corner infielder is coming off a three-home-run game for the Los Angeles Dodgers, bringing him to eight on the season. His spot in the Dodgers' lineup sits at No. 5, where he has plenty of talent in front of him to plate. He's posted 22 RBIs thus far as one of the best starts to his career. His .391 wOBA, .290 ISO, and .551 SLG showcase that, which is the big reason for us to go to his bat over others in the great Dodgers' lineup.

Los Angeles may not have it easy, however, as the Miami Marlins will start rookie Roddery Munoz. Munoz has been good in two starts, sporting a 2.45 ERA and 2.65 SIERA. But, as you dive into his underlying metrics, it includes a 3.65 xERA and 3.79 FIP. These first two starts may be outliers; he had a 8.62 ERA in his first four appearances in AAA to start the year, which included allowing four home runs.

With the best implied total on the day (5.14), per numberFire's heat map, the bats should thrive for Los Angeles.

Muncy is seeing the ball well, so ride with him tonight and consider him to Hit a Home Run (+340), too.
