3 MLB Player Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 8/29/23

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.
Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing.
Please note that betting lines and numberFire's game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.
Davis Schneider To Hit a Home Run (+430)
The Toronto Blue Jays have a solid 4.62 implied run total and plenty of power in their lineup.
It's late in the MLB season and there are plenty of players who are starting to get called up and getting more playing time. One such player is Davis Schneider, who is on fire for Toronto.
We'll look to ride the hot hand on top of a great match against MacKenzie Gore. This season, Gore has allowed a .435 SLG, .316 wOBA, 1.76 HR/9, 41.0% fly-ball rate, and 36.3% hard-contact rate versus right-handed hitters.
Schneider only has 48 total plate appearances this season where 21 of them have been against lefty pitchers. This is a small sample size so we have to take things with a grain of salt.
However, in this short time, he's hitting the seams off the ball with a 320 wRC+, .633 wOBA, .684 ISO, 45.5% fly-ball rate, and 54.5% hard-contact rate versus left-handed pitchers.
I love the power he has -- however small of a sample size it might be. As usual, I'll add Schneider To Record an RBI (+140), too.
Cole Ragans Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+106)
Cole Ragans is piling up the strikeouts right now and has a great matchup to continue that trend.
Ragans is a reliever turned into a starting pitcher and comes in with a 28.7% strikeout rate, 13.7% swinging-strike rate, and 29.8% called-plus-swinging-strike (CSW) rate. This has allowed Ragans to rack up eight strikeouts or more in four of his six starting outings.
Tonight, he's going up against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who come in with a 24.8% strikeout rate versus left-handed pitchers with their active roster. That is good for the sixth-worst in the league, putting Ragans in an awesome matchup to hit the over on this prop tonight.
Teoscar Hernandez To Record an RBI (+105)
The Seattle Mariners are on fire right now and we want to get some exposure to their offense.
The runs are coming early and often for the Mariners and a simple RBI prop is a great way to get in on that action.
Teoscar Hernandez is a great player to target with his 139 wRC+, .375 wOBA, .289 ISO, .337 BABIP, 43.3% fly-ball rate, and 40.1% hard-contact rate versus southpaws this season. With a 4.68 implied run total, the Mariners are expected to score tonight and have the matchup to do so.
They are up against Ken Waldichuk, who allows a .374 wOBA, .500 SLG, 4.98 xFIP, .339 BABIP, 1.62 HR/9, and 39.7% fly-ball rate versus right-handed hitters.
All of this puts Hernandez in a spot to grab an RBI tonight.
