Finding low-salary production is one way to get a leg up on the competition in MLB DFS.

Here are some value plays to target on FanDuel for today's main slate.

James Paxton, P, Red Sox ($8,800)

James Paxton checks some boxes tonight as a quality value option.

For one, the matchup is great. Paxton will see the Kansas City Royals, a team whose active roster owns the fourth-worst wOBA (.304) versus lefties along with the 11th-highest strikeout rate (23.9%) in the split.

On top of that, Paxton has been pretty darn good in 2023 despite barely pitching since 2019 prior to this year. Through 94 2/3 frames this season, he's recorded a 4.01 SIERA, 25.2% K rate and 12.7% swinging-strike rate.

Paxton has the stuff to take advantage of this matchup, and his salary comes in handy on a Coors slate.

Evan Longoria, 3B, Diamondbacks ($2,100)

Evan Longoria should be on the value radar whenever the Arizona Diamondbacks face a southpaw, and that's the case tonight as they're up against Cole Irvin.

Longoria is still mashing in this split, putting up a .347 wOBA, 43.9% hard-hit rate and 43.9% fly-ball rate against lefties.

Irvin is allowing a 43.6% fly-ball rate and 1.35 dingers per nine to right-handed hitters.

Longoria rates out as one of the slate's better point-per-dollar bats.

Jesus Sanchez, OF, Marlins ($2,400)

Let's pick on another Irvin.

Jesus Sanchez will take his hacks today against Jake Irvin. The right-handed Irvin hasn't been good, pitching to a 4.96 SIERA and 6.9% swinging-strike rate. Lefties are absolutely hammering him to the tune of a .373 wOBA and 2.21 homers per nine.

Yes, please.

Sanchez will hit from the left side, and he does damage with the platoon advantage, amassing a .343 wOBA in the split. He offers enticing upside in this matchup.
