Stacking is an integral part of daily fantasy baseball. Correlation drives upside, giving your lineups a slate-winning ceiling when your stacks explode.

This piece will do the digging and the dirty work each day to determine which stacks are worth rostering on FanDuel's main slate. While we want upside, we also need to factor in game theory, especially in a sport as random as baseball.

The MLB DFS heat map at numberFire is a quick way to get a feel for the overall slate and which offenses are in a good spot. You can also check out numberFire's daily fantasy baseball projections to identify the slate's best bats.

Let's look at the top stacks for this small main slate. We won't touch on the Coors Field game today. The Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres have two of the night's top implied totals, but you don't need to be told that Coors is worth taking advantage of in DFS lineups.

Atlanta Braves

Implied Total: 5.90 | Opposing Pitcher: Griffin Canning

Load up your lineup with bats from arguably baseball's best lineup, the Atlanta Braves.

Atlanta's offense has been at the top of the majors all year as their .356 wOBA and 122 wRC+ lead the league.

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they're the top non-Coors option for stacking tonight as their implied total sits at a sky-high 5.90 against Los Angeles Angels starter Griffin Canning.

Canning has mostly been meh this season for the Angels. He's currently sporting a 4.46 ERA and 4.61 FIP on the year. Those are numbers that the Braves -- and DFS players -- should see and look forward to a high-flying offensive night.

When it comes to the options at the plate, you should begin with the NL MVP favorite (-700), Ronald Acuna ($4,700). He's got the highest salary of the night but is a perfect guy for any lineup. The Braves' outfielder has 24 homers, 51 steals, and a .455 wOBA on the year. He's got the second-highest projection among non-Coors bats, per numberFire, at a clip of 15.9 FanDuel points.

There are plenty of options after Acuna with Matt Olson ($4,100), Ozzie Albies ($3,900), Austin Riley ($3,800), Marcell Ozuna ($3,300), Travis d'Arnaud ($3,200) and Michael Harris II ($3,100) all needing to be on our radar. Kevin Pillar ($2,100) is a viable value if he's in the lineup.

Stack up with the Braves tonight.

Houston Astros

Implied Total: 5.10 | Opposing Pitcher: Noah Syndergaard

The Houston Astros haven't been an elite offense all year, but they've still been among the top half of the league.

Heading into tonight's slate, the Astros have themselves have a mouthwatering matchup with the Cleveland Guardians and their newly acquired hurler, Noah Syndergaard, who just came over in the trade of Amed Rosario.

Syndergaard, in a word, has been bad. The man they nicknamed "Thor" hasn't brought the thunder like he once did as his 7.16 ERA and career-worst 4.69 SIERA illustrate. His 15.4% strikeout rate is also the lowest of his career.

Houston can feast here.

If you're looking for a player to kick off the stack with, look no further than Kyle Tucker ($3,600). Tucker has 18 HRs and a .378 wOBA on the season.

Yordan Alvarez ($4,000) is back from injury and is another high-salary Houston slugger to lock in. He and Tucker will have the platoon advantage against Syndergaard.

After those two, Houston can be stacked fairly economically, and I'm looking at the likes of Chas McCormick ($3,400), Alex Bregman ($3,200), and Jeremy Pena ($2,600).

With a 5.10 implied total, the Astros can come through today.

Milwaukee Brewers

Implied Total: 4.86 | Opposing Pitcher: Jake Irvin

The final team of the day worth considering for stacking is the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brew Crew has an implied total of 4.86, the fifth-best of the slate (third-best outside of Coors).

Milwaukee will be facing the Washington Nationals, and the Nats are sending out rookie right-hander Jake Irvin for the start. Irvin is rocking a 5.10 SIERA and 5.47 FIP while striking out hitters at only an 18.3% rate.

The resurgence of Christian Yelich ($3,500) has been a sight in 2023, and he should be the top priority if you're loading up on Milwaukee. Yelich's .366 wOBA and 16 dingers are his best numbers since the 2019 season. He's also got 22 steals and is projected for 14.5 FanDuel points.

There are plenty of lower-salaried options that fit into DFS lineups as newly acquired Carlos Santana ($3,300) is a good one along with William Contreras ($3,000), Willy Adames ($3,000), Sal Frelick ($3,000) and Joey Wiemer ($2,500).

There's lots of potential for success for the Brewers in this matchup, and their salaries make them a handy stack tonight.
