2024-25 SEC Football Championship Game Winner Odds

The Southeastern Conference has been regarded as the pinnacle college football league. Going forward, the SEC will expand by welcoming a couple powerhouse institutions.

Macro-scale, an SEC school has won the CFP National Championship in 6 of the past 10 years. Still, before diving into the natty conversation, winning the conference title game in this league is as difficult as it gets.

With the regular season kicking off in about three months, which teams are early favorites to win the 2024 SEC Championship Game? Let's check out FanDuel Sportsbook's college football conference championship odds and survey the most promising bets.

Georgia (+185)

Over the past decade, only three different universities have won an SEC title game, and one of those is obviously head coach Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs. UGA has done well to earn trips to the conference championship game six times since 2017. Within that span, Georgia has twice been named kings of the SEC.

Heading for the 2024 campaign, the Bulldogs have much to be excited about.

Quarterback Carson Beck is returning to Athens for his senior season. The 6-foot-3 signal-caller had the seventh-best QBR (85.2) last season, but he was unable to bring the elusive natty three-peat to UGA. That should leave a chip on Beck's shoulder going forward. Either way, Pro Football Focus asserts Georgia to have the top QB room in FBS for 2024. Beck is an early +300 favorite to be the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL Draft odds.

The Bulldogs can also count on a few returning defensive stars. Safety Malaki Starks and linebacker Smael Mondon will be back for another campaign between the hedges. Starks was named an All-American behind three interceptions and seven passes defended while Mondon was Georgia's second-leading tackler in 2023.

In its modern iteration, the Dawgs have won the SEC title game in four separate years. At FanDuel Sportsbook, UGA is listed at +185 odds to win the SEC Championship in the coming season, which makes Georgia the favorite.

Texas (+310)

As one of the SEC's new kids on the block, the Texas Longhorns will be looking to make a statement. Be that as it may, the Longhorns are the only program in this conference other than Georgia to show a college football win total as high as 10.5 games at FanDuel.

Simply, the gridiron expectations are lofty in the Lone Star's capital city. Head coach Steve Sarkisian is back with the 'Horns for his fourth season. Texas is listed with +310 odds to win the SEC Championship.

In 2024, UT will have the benefit of returning quarterback Quinn Ewers. Last season, Ewers chucked the pigskin for nearly 3,500 yards with a completion clip of 69.0%. Notably, he is considered a top signal-caller in college football, and owns the fourth-shortest odds to be the first pick of the NFL Draft (+1400).

Two of Ewers' top receivers from last year departed via the 2024 NFL Draft, but Texas was sure to find reinforcements. The Longhorns were diligent in the transfer portal, bringing in wideouts Isaiah Bond (Alabama Crimson Tide), Matthew Golden (Houston Cougars) and Silas Bolden (Oregon State Beavers).

After scoring 35.8 PPG in 2024, the program in Austin will be powered by their offense once again. Still, can Texas actually win the SEC in their first campaign as a league member? For what it's worth, the 'Horns managed to win in Tuscaloosa a year ago -- that should provide confidence upon entering the conference.

Ole Miss (+650)

The Mississippi Rebels are another program returning with momentum in 2024. Over the past three seasons under head coach Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss has produced 29 total wins. Still, the Rebels have not earned a conference title in football since 1963.

In the modern era, Ole Miss has largely been in the shadow of other powerhouses in the SEC West -- such as 'Bama, the Auburn Tigers and LSU Tigers. With Nick Saban now retired, perhaps Kiffin and the Rebels can "hotty toddy" into the conference's driver seat.

Mississippi is currently labeled with +650 odds to win the SEC Championship.

Offense should lead the way in Oxford in 2024. The Rebels produced 35.1 PPG a year ago. Going forward, it certainly helps that signal-caller Jaxson Dart is back for another campaign.

According to ESPN's latest SP+ rankings, the Rebs are placed eighth overall while carrying the sixth-best offense. Either way, both sides of the football for Ole Miss have gotten a boost from the transfer portal. It appears Mississippi has major plans for 2024.

In terms of FanDuel Sportsbook's college football win totals, the Rebels are sitting with a lofty 9.5-win total (with -124 odds on the over). In short, the Rebels should be one of the league's best squads in 2024.
