Florida Panthers 1st Period To Record 10+ Shots on Goal (-106)

The Edmonton Oilers have won two in a row and now trail the Florida Panthers 3-2, giving us a monumental Game 6 on Friday night.

What was a 3-0 series lead for the Panthers has turned quickly as the Oilers have roared to life with 13 goals over the last two games.

Despite losing two straight games, the Panthers have played "okay". Of course, there's plenty to explain.

In Game 4, the Panthers controlled the shot attempt advantage 77-67, and in Game 5, they also controlled the shot attempt advantage 76-39.

While losing games is bad, the Panthers aren't "playing bad" in all aspects. Their defense might be slacking right now but the offense is still pushing the pace and that is where we can find value in the prop market.

Over the last six periods, the Panthers have racked up at least 10 shots on goal four times. This is the baseline expectation for the Panthers at this point in the series. As the road team, getting an early jump on offense will help take the home crowd out of the game.

Zach Hyman Under 3.5 Shots on Goal (-154)

As noted above, the Panthers have controlled the overall shot attempt volume recently, which doesn't favor the Oilers.

Yes, the Oilers have been scoring goals over the last two games, but they haven't taken a massive volume of shot attempts. While overall offensive efficiency is great for the team winning, it doesn't provide a ton of consistency at the player level.

This is shown clearly by Zach Hyman, who has been held to under this 3.5 prop in all five games this series. A total of 11 shots on goal over five games is not what we'd expect from Hyman, who leads the team with 87 shots on goal in the playoffs.

With the lack of consistency from Hyman, there's no way we can trust him to hit four shots on goal, something he has yet to accomplish in the Stanly Cup Final.
