MLB Same Game Parlay Bets for Monday 6/24/24

Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds

Bryan Reynolds to Record 2+ Total Bases (-145)
Jeimer Candelario to Record 2+ Total Bases (-105)

Combined Odds: +240

It is going to be ideal hitting weather at Great American Ball Park on Monday, so we'll want to target the bats from both teams in this SGP. Bryan Reynolds and the Pittsburgh Pirates will square off against Carson Spiers and the Cincinnati Reds for the second time in the last week.

When Spiers faced the Pirates on June 17, he allowed seven hits and four earned runs. Reynolds produced two hits -- both being doubles -- in the previous matchup, and he's currently on a league-high 20-game hit streak.

On the season, Reynolds is tallying a .360 wOBA, 133 wRC+, and .199 ISO versus right-handed pitchers. Given the warm conditions and how he's performed recently, Reynolds carries the shortest odds to hit a home run (+260) in Monday's Pirates-Reds showdown.

The pitching matchup also favors Jeimer Candelario as Pittsburgh is expected to trot out Bailey Falter for the 15th time this season. Falter is in the 12th percentile in xERA (5.12), 13th percentile in strikeout rate (16.5%), 21st percentile in barrel rate (9.5%), and 27th percentile in hard-hit rate (42.0%).

Meanwhile, Candelario has also been swinging a hot bat, recording at least one hit in 10 straight contests where he's gotten three-plus ABs. Candelario has logged a hit in 21 of his last 25 appearances.

Ahead of an extremely favorable matchup, Candelario is being given +420 odds to hit a home run.

Atlanta Braves at St. Louis Cardinals

Lance Lynn Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-138)
Marcell Ozuna to Record an RBI (+110)
Jarred Kelenic to Record a Hit (-240)

Combined Odds: +330

Across 15 starts for the St. Louis Cardinals, Lance Lynn is registering a 4.11 xFIP and 4.20 SIERA with the lowest swinging strike rate (10.2%) of his career since 2018. Lynn has given up three-plus earned runs in three consecutive starts, and he'll face an Atlanta Braves squad that is still capable of wreaking havoc despite not having Ronald Acuna Jr.

Besides ranking in the 47th percentile in strikeout rate (21.7%), Lynn has reached six-plus Ks in only four of his 15 starts in 2024. While the Braves have the third-highest strikeout rate (25.1%), they have the 10th-best wOBA (.329), 11th-best wRC+ (110), and fifth-best ISO (.208) in the last 14 days.

One player who has helped Atlanta achieve a .208 ISO in recent weeks is Marcell Ozuna. Ozuna has been raking all year to the tune of a .422 wOBA, 175 wRC+, and .332 ISO versus right-handed pitching, which has him tied with Freddie Freeman for the third-shortest odds to win the National League MVP (+1300).

With Ozuna launching three homers in his last nine outings, he has +250 odds to hit a home run on Monday.

Lastly, we'll take Jarred Kelenic to record a hit for the Braves. Kelenic has been batting out of the leadoff spot versus right-handed starters, and he's on a 10-game hit streak right now.

Aside from Kelenic's recent surge at the plate, Lynn is permitting a .352 wOBA, 1.34 HR/9, and 1.61 WHIP to left-handed hitters compared to a .286 wOBA, 0.78 HR/9, and 1.21 WHIP to right-handed hitters.

Miami Marlins at Kansas City Royals

Cole Ragans Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-120)
Bobby Witt Jr. to Record an RBI (-120)
Kansas City Royals ML (-240)

Combined Odds: +294

The Miami Marlins haven't been a team we've particularly targeted with left-handed pitchers, logging the 15th-lowest strikeout rate (21.3%) this season in that split. However, the Marlins have seen their strikeout rate against southpaws increase to the sixth-highest rate (25.0%) in the last 30 days.

This drastic change in the strikeout department when taking on left-handed pitching doesn't bode well for Miami ahead of a showdown with Cole Ragans of the Kansas City Royals. Ragans has established himself as one of the premier strikeout pitchers in baseball, ranking in the 68th percentile in chase rate (30.1%), 88th percentile in whiff rate (31.3%), and 88th percentile in strikeout rate (28.9%).

Aside from Ragans racking up seven-plus Ks in 10 of his 16 starts thus far, he's posting a career-best 14.3% swinging strike rate. At the same time, Miami is recording the highest swinging rate on pitches outside the zone (37.6%) and the fourth-highest swinging strike rate (12.8%).

With Roddery Munoz on the mound for the Marlins, all of the bats on the Royals are in play. Munoz resides in the first percentile in xERA (7.00), eighth percentile in xBA (.287), first percentile in barrel rate (15.9%), and second percentile in hard-hit rate (50.0%).

While Munoz does give up more contact to lefties, Bobby Witt Jr. leads Kansas City in wOBA (.386), wRC+ (149), and ISO (.227) against right-handed pitching. Witt -- who has +300 odds to hit a home run -- is one of the reasons why I have the Royals as my favorite team to stack in MLB DFS on Monday.

Considering the massive pitching advantage, we'll take Kansas City to secure a victory at home over Miami. The Marlins are 11-23 on the road this year while the Royals are 25-14 when playing in front of their home fans at Kauffman Stadium.
