CHAMPAGNE WISHES (3) is an ex-Australian-trained mare who made a pleasing return when third over 6f at Tauranga 4 weeks ago. She strips fitter for that outing and drops down to 5f for the first time. She meets the right sort of field here and can take this out. RICHEMONT (5) is on debut for the Shane Crawford stable. The four-year-old mare by Swiss Ace out of Philanthropic has trialled well, including a win at Avondale in the middle of last month. The market will be a very good guide. SUAVE (2) resumes after 5 months off. He finished fifth over 5 ½f at Taupo in the spring and has since won another trial. If he can reproduce his trial efforts on race day, then he won't be a maiden for much longer. ALPINE PRINCESS (9) is a debutante filly by Anders out of Alpine Pearl. She placed second in her latest trial at Foxton and is worth keeping safe, especially if there is market confidence.
