Verdict

Not a bad maiden this. GENOMIC (3) is closing in on a win after two consecutive minor placings, the latest when third over 7f at Ballarat in a strong $75k maiden on Discovery Day. This looks a good progression and should be ready for 1m now, but there a few who will make him work for it. Namely MELEYS (12), who has been in the money at both runs this time in, the latest effort a second over 6 ¾f at Donald. Straight up to 1m but that shouldn't bother the daughter of Fierce Impact. CAMELOT TIME (2) hit the line nicely to finish second, beaten a head, on debut last start over 6 ¾f at Donald. Will relish the extra distance, the big question is how big a start he will be spotting them from the wide draw. HIMALAYAN (9) improved up to 7f last time, so might even be better off at 1m.
