Verdict

INSATIABLE (4) won at Riccarton in his penultimate start when racing just off the pace in a nice rhythm, and then did not appreciate forcing the pace in a tougher field at Wingatui 12 days ago. He is much better placed in this field, and with a kg less to carry, he is good enough to bounce back and win a race like this. TEXAS DOLLY (6) will find this assignment much easier than her last couple of starts, and she can secure the run of the race from the pole position. If the fence is playing fair, then a form reversal is on the cards. MISS MIRANDA (5) fought on gamely to be narrowly beaten into fourth place when resuming at Ascot Park nearly 4 weeks ago. She will strip fitter, and is good enough to figure in the top 3 here. GEMMA FLITZ (2) is getting ready for the poly track season at Riccarton, but that is not to say she can't be competitive on the turf tracks. She trialled up nicely here since her fresh effort, and is worth including. MISS BRITTANY (8) can't be ruled out. Include.

Insatiable silk

Most recently raced on the pace before fading 11th of 13 at Wingatui on February 28 over 6f, on a slow track, 6 len behind Trobriand with 129lbs at $5.70. The race before that tracked the speed and boxed on steadily, won by a 0.2 len at Riccarton Park February 4 over 5 ½f on a rain affected track defeating Spartan carrying 120lbs at $2. Too good to dismiss and deserves another chance.
