Zayas vs Cruz Prediction & Best Bet

Native Puerto Rican Zayas comes to NYC ready to fight on the biggest stage on the eve of the city’s Puerto Rican Day parade. He’s excited for the support he will receive in the arena and the undefeated fighter believes this will help him maintain that distinction, as do I.

That being said, Zayas is no stranger to MSG. He won three of his last four fights in NYC in December 2022, August 2022 and March 2022. He is the heavy favorite in this undercard bout over Cruz, who himself has not stepped inside the ring since August 2022. In total, Cruz has only fought three times since the start of 2020.

There is value in betting Zaya as a huge moneyline favorite, but his recent form suggests he could finish this one early after winning three of his last five fights by knockout in Round 5 or earlier. We can get Zayas to win in Rounds 5-6 for more than 3/1 odds, and that’s where we will land. I don’t expect Cruz to go down immediately, but going the distance doesn’t seem like something Zayas is keen on allowing to happen of late.

Bet: Zayas to Win in Round 5-6 (+320)
