Week 6 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Bills vs Chiefs

There are several huge matchups lined up for the NFL's Week 6 schedule, but none are bigger than the upcoming Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs showdown. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently favor the Bills at -2.5 on the spread in a game that should see no shortage of offense.

Devin Singletary Fantasy

Start Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo Bills: Devin Singletary hasn't been anything special yet this season, entering the week as PPR's RB25, averaging 10.7 points per game. However, that could all change in this week's potential shootout. For starters, the Chiefs have given up the sixth-most points to running backs this season. Furthermore, no team has surrendered more than Kansas City's 49 receptions and 350 receiving yards to the position. Considering how Singletary averages three catches on 4.6 targets, he could have some nice success in the passing game. The Bills' elite offense will also give the veteran rusher plenty of red zone opportunities, making him someone I see as having RB2 upside this week.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Fantasy

Start Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been building up chemistry with Patrick Mahomes lately, averaging 8.5 targets over the last four games. The connection paid off last week as MVS caught 6-of-8 targets for 90 receiving yards (15 points, WR20). Even though the Bills own one of the best defenses in the league, Valdes-Scantling should still continue seeing a lot of work.

James Cook Fantasy

Sit James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills: James Cook finally gave Bills Mafia something to cheer about last week with the first touchdown of his career. While that performance may have tempted fantasy managers to look at him, he's far from a reliable option this week. For starters, Cook only played 18% of snaps last week and only saw four carries — the fourth time this season that he's seen single-digit rushing opportunities. Furthermore, a back-and-forth shootout doesn't favor Cook, who's an afterthought in Buffalo's passing game (four contests with one or zero targets). With the Bills comfortable using Singletary as their main RB and Zack Moss being a looming threat to vulture carries, continue sitting Cook this weekend.

Mecole Hardman Fantasy

Sit Mecole Hardman, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: Mecole Hardman has earned himself a reputation as one of the many boom-or-bust players in fantasy. While he did have 73 receiving yards last week, that was a rare bright spot in an otherwise uneventful season that's seen him average just 6.5 points in PPR. Making matters worse, Hardman's snap count has declined over the last three weeks, going from 68% to 46% to 40%. Even in a potentially high-scoring affair, the 24-year-old is just too inconsistent to plug in. Until he proves otherwise, Hardman is a hard man to trust in your fantasy lineup.
