VIDEO: Remembering When Brian Dawkins Crushed Jerome Bettis With a Huge Hit
Updated:
As far as defensive players go, few have ever been as exciting as Brian Dawkins. The man affectionately known as Weapon X, or Wolverine, was named to nine Pro Bowls across his 16-year career, including his final season in 2011 when he was 38 years old.
He was simply a one-man highlight reel. But few of his 1,147 career tackles were as electric as this hit he put on Hall-of-Fame running back Jerome Bettis.
Bettis was a 250-pound bowling ball during his playing days, and yet the 210-pound Dawkins still manages to absolutely light him up. In fact, Bettis couldn't even fall forward, something he was known for. Dawkins managed to completely stop The Bus in his tracks.
That's truly an impressive play from one of the best defensive players in recent years.
