Seahawks Sign Former First-Round Wide Receiver to Replace Tyler Lockett
Updated:
The Seattle Seahawks suffered a tough loss in Week 15 when star wideout Tyler Lockett suffered a fracture to his hand, which will most likely keep him out for the remainder of the regular season. This has left a void in Seattle's receiver room.

To fill this void, the Seahawks are signing former first-round pick Laquon Treadwell off their own practice squad to the active 53-man roster.
Treadwell was the No. 23 overall pick out of Ole Miss in 2016 by the Minnesota Vikings, but never really found his footing in the NFL. Injuries haven't done him any favors, either. He actually had his best season in 2021 with the Jacksonville Jaguars when he hauled in 33 catches for 434 yards and a touchdown.
He's appeared in three games this season for the Seahawks but has hardly contributed, mustering just 1 catch for a single yard.
Lockett's injury should give the 27-year-old a larger opportunity for the rest of the season, though, which in turn could help him earn another contract for next season.
Treadwell will try to help Seattle upset the Chiefs in Kansas City this week, as the Seahawks are currently listed as 9.5-point road underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
